The Souhegan Valley Dance Theatre is a non-profit organization forming in Amherst, NH.

A community needs to guide its members toward an understanding and respect of the arts and   the discipline involved in developing dancers with integrity. This can lead to higher artistic opportunities and a place in academic institutions.

Souhegan Valley Dance Theatre will provide members the practice, the skill, and the versatility to further their dance education and performance experience.

The organization is made of individual people dedicated to the discipline and professional practices involved in the making of a performance. We want to inspire dancers to commit to artistic growth through dance education-based training and performance opportunities. The Souhegan Valley Dance Theatre is a creative outlet for its members to develop as complete dancers and it is affiliated with VouliDance studio as its performing company.

VouliDance and SVDT commit to their members/dancers by training them with the standards of the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. We focus on developing their performance abilities through work done within the modern dance program (contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop) and rehearsal work that emphasizes interpretation. Leading roles preference for the performances of VouliDance and SVDT is given to the SVDT members.
