Nutcracker 2015

2015 Nutcracker auditions are Sunday, September 13 at 2:00pm. 


Act I

Our ballet begins on a snowy Christmas Eve. Children of all ages are on their way to a Christmas party at the Stahlbaum’s house. The party comes to its climax with the Grandmother’s dance and the opening of presents by the children. Clara is given the best gift of all, the Nutcracker.
At the stroke of midnight Clara awakens to a frightening scene. Out of nowhere, the Mouse Queen and her army scurry in and have a battle with the toy soldiers. After an exciting battle with the Mouse Queen, Clara’s Nutcracker is transformed into a handsome prince. In a flurry of snowflakes, her house is changed into the magical land of sweets.
Act II
The Prince escorts Clara to sit and watch a celebration of dance in the Land of Sweets. The dances celebrate all things wonderful from around the world, including Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabian, Flowers, Mirliton, and Gingers. Lastly, the Prince and Clara celebrate with the queen of sweets, the Sugar Plum Fairy.
